THE YEAR IS 2005, gertrude robinson has worked as the head archivist for the magnus institute for four decades now, burning through statements as quickly as she burns through archival assistants. so far, she has only stopped one ritual, but that hasn't stopped her from during all the research she can to track down more avatars and kill them before it's too late. however, complications arise when a new avatar of an unknown entity begins to formulate their own plan for a ritual which intends to wipe out humanity itself. desperate and confused, her only chance might lie in forming an alliance with those she had originally sought to destroy: the remaining avatars.
