With the Primes’ combined strength, they were able to banish Unicron, sending him into the unknown. Exhausted, Primus transformed himself into the planet Cybertron, entering a deep slumber and leaving the Primes to protect the world. With his spark powering the planet, Cybertron thrived, becoming a hub of life as the Cybertronians took control.
The Cybertronians advanced rapidly, mastering their biology, developing cutting-edge technology, and building towering cities. But their society began to fracture as the rise of Functionalism assigned roles based solely on alt-modes, disrupting the harmony of their world. One of the most infamous figures to rise during this time was a miner and gladiator who drew inspiration from the fallen Prime, Megatronus. Renaming himself Megatron, he led a rebellion against the oppressive Functionalist Senate, killing its members one by one and forming an army of Decepticons.”
In response, a humble clerk was chosen to wield a powerful artifact—the Matrix of Leadership—and was made a Prime. This new leader, Optimus Prime, stood against Megatron to prevent his tyrannical ambitions from further corrupting their world.
Thus, the once-peaceful planet was plunged into a war between Autobots and Decepticons, igniting the great conflict that would shape Cybertron's future.*
