Eons have passed since the Midnight Binding was committed. The black-hearted rite that saw monstrosities beyond mortal recknoning prevade and infest our once-noble world of Eryglar, forces so ruthless and powerful that both king and beggar would cower in fear of the night and it's terrors. It came at the dawn of The Age of the Emerald, once named to bring about an age of prosperity, now named for the verdant, sickly, green glow that engulfs the southern horizon, a beacon of fear visible from all corners of the known world.
Most do not have even a clue of what lies beyond the Emerald Veil, few have ever tried to find out, fewer still returned at all from those ventures, and none at all have returned with their minds intact. There is only one thing known of it's creation and it's creator.
He is the Emerald King, the Deathless Sage, the Monarch of Bone, and the Truth-Bearer, and he has come to save us from ourselves.
