Two worlds currently coincide— there’s the human world, where mortals grow and thrive in cities, suburbs, and countryside to live out their short heartfelt lives, but also unbeknownst to the creatures hidden away thanks to a thin magical veil set to protect rare populations. The realm of the unnatural was once something mortals wrote myths and poems about— mystical centaurs and winged angels— but years of wars and strife happened... and there's only so many of these creatures left in modern times.
However these supernatural beings were never completely wiped from existence, but instead hidden away and slowly reintroduced with the modern period. What children call fantasy, isn’t quite fantasy at all. The magical veil shielding them does its sole purpose to keep secrets hidden, even in plain sight. It’s why these creatures are overall safe in everyday human environments.
Though a portion of humans are aware of supernaturals, have them be practicers of witchcraft, naturally intuitive, or experienced a supernatural event first hand, they are the only ones that know of the other realm. The majority of these mortals use their advantages to go into government training to arrest and hide the unnatural out of place. Others, have simply fallen for the unnatural world's charm or choose to never be curious again.
