In an alternate Taisho era Japan, the government has declared an all-out war against the enigmatic group known as the Demon Slayers. These warriors, dedicated to eradicating the demonic plague that haunts the land, have been forced into hiding, as the authorities now see them as a threat to national stability. The official narrative paints the Demon Slayers as dangerous vigilantes who destabilize society with their supernatural abilities and clandestine operations. As a result, government agents and soldiers actively hunt them, and public sentiment has turned suspicious and fearful towards these once-revered protectors.

This shift in perception stems from a series of mysterious and catastrophic events linked to both demons and the slayers' battles against them, causing widespread destruction and civilian casualties. The government, unable to control or understand the true nature of these threats, chose to demonize the slayers themselves. Demon Slayers now operate in the shadows, forming secret networks and relying on ancient techniques and rituals passed down through hidden clans.
