2 months ago, a failed experiment conducted by the United States Biological Weapons Agency resulted in the outbreak of an unknown disease, causing those infected to turn on their fellow humans. Martial law was declared and the California national guard was mobilized to contain the threat however, after months of brutal fighting and hundreds of casualties, the military withdrew from the area, leaving those still trapped to fend for themselves.
