Albion: Tower of Hope
In the year 2000, the world we know took a completely different path from modern day. Humans gained the mysterious power to produce an essence from their souls- This essence was simply called "mana." Through the release of mana, one could perfect styles of magic, ranging from simple things such as fire or even ideas deeply rooted in the human consciousness. Humanity entered an entirely new age of magic and technology, and even space became a stepping stone.
Exactly 100 years later, an equally mysterious subset of "humans" began to be born. Called Mystics, these rare people would be born carrying the powers, items, skills, and sometimes personality and appearance of figures from mythology, fiction, and history. These Mystics faced prejudice, but their immense power came in handy.
2200. 200 years later, over 95% of the population was extinguished from the face of Earth. After a meteor strike that bypassed all orbital defense systems and magic attacks, a strange fog spread through the entire planet, killing and draining the magical power from anyone who breathed it in. The last shreds of humanity have evacuated to a towering prison tower, called the Tower of Albion- A facility housing everything one could need for survival, led by a group of powerful Mystics known as the Dawnlight Wardens. Now, we take the fight into our world, to liberate it from the horrors that descended from beyond. Even surviving takes specially made gas masks that resist the fog's power.
