# Welcome to Tulsa 1967 an AU of S.E. Hinton's "The Outsiders".
**In this AU, everyone lives. Robert Sheldon nearly died but was found to be alive when the cops arrived. He spent time in a coma as a result of blood loss. However, Johnny Cade and Ponyboy Curtis still ran away thinking he was dead. The events of the book take place just as they do in canon until Johnny "dies". In this AU, Johnny gets recessitated after Dallas Winston runs off. Dallas, thinking Johnny's dead, still robs the grocery store and gets caught by the cops. However, the wounds he sustains were not fatal. Ponyboy and Johnny were not charged with attempted murder, as Cherry Valance testified for them and it was ruled as self defense.**
