long after the ancients had died out, after every canon slugcat has been long dead, the clouds began to slowly get thicker due to an unknown reason. when this takes place, the clouds have gotten so thick that the earth is shrouded in nearly pitch black darkness. this means that it's always raining hard, but not hard enough to kill. cycles have slowed down because of the fact it's always raining, making cycles almost twice as long.
