Panem. A country defined not only by its times of peace, but for its savage responses to any sort of rebellion. It has been 200 years since Katniss Everdeen won her first games, and Panem is now back to exactly the way it was before The Mockingjay. President Arachne Snow, a descendant of the now long deceased Coriolanus Snow, is in power, and following in his footsteps, she has closed down travel between the districts, and at the start of her reign, she re-instated the Hunger Games, framing them as a way to remind everyone that the Capitol can, and will, beat any rebels, past or present. It’s been 15 years, and Panem is on the cusp of the next Games.
