A world very familiar, yet somewhat not. Monsters have been freed from their exile underground by Frisk about a decade ago. Asgore has begun running a settlement on the surface, but many monsters still choose to live in the mountain which is governed by Lords and Nobles assigned by the king.
With the barrier having fallen, something new appeared in its place as a powerful force to overcome. The Chasm. A break in reality that appears and disappears at random, spitting out people from other universes and strange creatures known as The Corrupted.
It seems to have started to appear after a screaming lunatic calling himself the royal scientist dragged himself out of the far depths of Waterfall. He claims to have clawed his way into existence, but no one knows for sure. He seems able to open and close The Chasm, but this isn't something he can do on a whim or by his own volition.
The underground has a lot more to it than Frisk had explored on their journey. Holy shrines and hot springs! Bumblebones and Bearbugs! Places of learning and fields of crops!
