The City: Distortions of the Self takes place in the universe of Project Moon. As quickly, Lobotomy Corporation burned brightly, it was quickly snuffed out by Angela. The seed of light project was a success, and with it came the White Nights and Dark Days. However, due to Angela’s last minute intervention with the project, it would lead to the city having widespread distortion phenomenon. The main branch of the fallen L Corp would manifest into the Library, and the surrounding former nest is coated with thick fog as the mirage resides at the epicenter. The current timeline of events is the post true ending of Lobotomy Corp and is before the first invitation sent by the Library.
In the discord server, your character can come from any walks of life. Their background could be a Syndicate member that is affiliated with the thumb, to ranging as a Zwei Association Fixer. Did your character partake in the Smoke Wars? Or is your character a cleanup crew member for W Corp? It can be anything. After all, the world of Project Moon is one of a society of advanced technology and development, that is ruled under and suffers from an oppressive meritocracy ruled by massive corporate entities.
The world has been exhausted of most of its natural resources, leading to the discovery of miraculous technology known as Singularities. This technology bends or even breaks the laws of physics. Corporations rise to claim these wonders, these would then rise into having influence to become a wing out of the 26 districts that encompasses the city. The rapid development of technology would lead to economic disparity between the poor and rich. Such a divide leads to the separation of the Backstreets and the Nests that reside with districts. Rampant corruption and violence plagues the backstreets. The Nests denizens get to enjoy the warm blanket wrapped around them as they enjoy the benefits of safety provided by the corporation.
