An ages old introduction, from which our story unfolds. ‘Bold Gryffindor, from wild moor’ Fair Ravenclaw, ‘from glen’, Hufflepuff ‘from valley broad’ and Slytherin from ‘Ierne’. it’s a common belief among many that Rowena Ravenclaw came up with the name of Hogwarts after dreaming of a warty hog that led her to a cliff by a lake. Whether this is true or not, nobody actually knows save the founders themselves.
in Era’s past, the four founders of Hogwarts each kept a grimoire of spells, but as the wizarding world grew divided, Discourse and mistrust escalated between the founders of Hogwarts. Whilst once originally friends, this changed once it became clear that certain founders had a very different idea of what they wanted Hogwarts to be and whom was to be admitted into it’s halls.
after heated debates and disagreement, the founders eventually went their separate ways, leaving Hogwarts to it’s hired staff. But Peace never lasts long for witches and wizards i’m afraid and there is always a hunger for power.
As pandemonium ensued, Rumors began to spread across the wizarding communities of britain about the existence of these Grimoires held by the founders, full of knowledge that was forbidden to students of all arts and chaos reared it’s head like a beast. Begrudgingly, the four reunited to deliberate on what to do, calling in a fifth, unknown entity, to aid in mediation.
The conference between Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin lasted several days and many sleepless nights, until a compromise was finally reached and it was decided the mediator would take the Grimoires, hiding them within the vast corridors and catacombs beneath the castle. where they supposedly remain to this day.
