the house of life, also known as the 𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙠𝙝, is the largest continuous assembly of egyptian mages in modern times. dating back to ancient times before the pyramids, the house of life has now spread across the world in to three-hundred-and-sixty different subgroups, known as nomes, with the head of them all: the first nome, located in the ancient city of heliopolis.

our story takes us to the twenty-first nome, located in the brooklyn borough of new york city. the twenty-first nome is a particularly rowdy bunch, who are often looked down on by the magician world. when a magician graduates from the first nome, they're often sent here if they're particularly "creative" with their magic.

for that very reason, in a sort of twisted turn of fate, the twenty-first nome has produced some of the most powerful and recognizable magicians the world has ever seen . . .
