The year is 276 After Conquest. King Aerys II Targaryen has ruled the Seven Kingdoms for fourteen years. Aerys’ mental state has been in a steady decline for the better half of a decade, and Lord Tywin Lannister has been hard at work keeping the realm afloat. Despite constant japes and insults against Tywin by the King and his lickspittles, the Hand has announced a grand tourney to celebrate the birth of Prince Viserys, the youngest of King Aerys’ children, in an attempt to rekindle their once great friendship. Despite some arguments by the King himself, Aerys has been convinced to bring his family to Lannisport to attend the tourney. Many Lords, high and low, watch with bated breath in hopes that the King’s demeanor may be subdued in the presence of the lords and ladies of Westeros at large.
