In late summer of 2023, a worldwide outbreak of a virus known as the "Zombie Virus" had a catastrophic impact on society. Billions of people were being turned into violent creatures as the virus spread.
The year is now 2027. There's a widespread belief that the virus was released by an unidentified cult, but no one has proof. Civilization is a husk of what it once was with zombies still wreaking havoc globally.
